What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible to be the only inspired infallible Word of God. The Bible contains 66 Books. It is the final authoritative writing to which all doctrine and prophecy must conform. ( 2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13).
One God
We believe that there is one God and that by Him all things are created. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, unchanging, perfect, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. God is completely good, loving, compassionate and faithful to His people and His promises. (Deuteronomy 32:39; 1 Samuel 2:2; Isaiah 44:8; Mark 12:32; Luke 18:19; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 12:18).
The Son
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. (Luke 1:26-35; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 13:8; Romans 5:8; Isaiah 7:14, 9:6).
The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Though three distinct persons, equal in Divine perfection, they operate in such complete and total unity to bring salvation to people and restoration to the world. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:16; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
Man
We believe in the creation, test and fall of man as recorded in Genesis, and in his total spiritual depravity and inability to attain Divine righteousness. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12-19).
The Resurrection
We believe that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day, and personally appeared unto his disciples. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Romans 4:25). We believe in the bodily ascension of Jesus into heaven, in His exaltation, and in His personal, literal, and bodily coming again a second time for His church.
(John 14:2-3; 1 Thes.4:13-18).
Salvation
We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary, by which we obtain remission of sins. Salvation occurs when people recognize and confess their sin and place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12,22; Romans 5:11; 1 John 1:9-10).
Baptism
We believe in the importance of water baptism by immersion, in the Name of the Eternal Godhead in order to fulfill the command of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Colossians 2:12; Acts 19:1-6).
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a real experience at or subsequent to salvation, with the Scriptural evidence, namely, speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. (Acts 2:1-4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; Galatians 3:14-15).
Gifts
We believe in the present day operation of the Gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12-14.
Set Apart
We believe in the Spirit-filled life, a life of separation from the world and perfecting of holiness in the fear of God expressing the true Christian faith. (Ephesians 5:18; 2 Corinthians 6:14, 7:1).
Healing
We believe the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Acts 4:30; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:14).
Communion
Communion is commemorative and symbolic of the breaking of Christ’s body and the shedding of His blood. It is to be partaken of by those who have entered into a personal relationship with Christ. (Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:28-32).
Eternity
We believe in the reality and personality of the devil, and in eternal judgement in the lake of fire for the devil and his angels. To be eternally united with God is Heaven and to be separated from God is hell. (Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:14-15). We believe in eternal life for the believers (John 3:16; 5:24), and eternal punishment for the unbelievers (Mark 9:43-48; 2 Thes. 1:8-9; Revelation 20:10-15).
The Church
We believe the true Church to be the “called out assembly” of born again believers. It is not political in nature, but spiritual. It is universal but local in expression. Its threefold purpose is: (a) Worship (b) Edification of Believers (c) Evangelization of the world. (Acts 15:22; Matthew 16:18; 18:15-20)
